Procedures and What to expect…

Eyebrows

When the eyebrows are naturally too light, too thin, sparse or non-existent caused by chemotherapy, alopecia or hair thinning with age it can be beautifully enhanced and improved using micro pigmentation.

When attending your consultation/procedure your technician may ask you to come with your eyebrows already pencilled in as this may act as a guideline for the technician to see how you would normally wear your eyebrows. As a client you may also bring a picture as a reference of which eyebrow design you prefer. Different techniques will be discussed and in which manner the design will suit you. You may choose from simulating hair strokes or having a powdered shading behind the brow.

An anaesthetic will be applied to help with any discomfort that may occur. After the anaesthetic has taken affect an eyebrow shape will be drawn in to the client’s specification together with the technicians experience in what will suit your individual facial shape. The different types of colours that the technician will use will be communicated to the client so that preferences are met in accordance to the specific skin tone.

Before any cosmetic permanent makeup commences the technician will give the client an opportunity to approve the design. During the procedure more anaesthetic will be applied to further reduce any discomfort that may be experienced.

As soon as the procedure is done the client will be given an aftercare regimen and an ointment will be supplied to help with the healing process. Normally any permanent makeup procedure that is done will be very dark and prominent within the first 3-5days of it being done. As it heals it will lighten to a beautifully natural looking colour giving you the freedom to do activities without having to worry about your makeup.

A follow up appointment will be booked for 6-12 weeks to access the healing and to perfect the design.

Eyeliner

If you are constantly walking around with smudged eyeliner, having trouble applying eyeliner in a straight defined line or even having allergic reactions to certain makeup then this procedure is perfect for you.

Eyeliner can define and accentuate your eyes, making the lashes appear thicker and denser. Eyeliner can be applied in many different ways including different colours and styles. Together with your technician a choice will be made on which style, technique and colour will best suit your features and age group. Eyeliner can be applied on the upper and lower lid in any style of your choosing. Generally, having the upper lid done will lift the eye making it appear larger and more defined. Whichever design you choose waking up will never be the same again. You will always look your very best doing your favourite activities! Whether it’s running, swimming or any other exercise there will be no more smudging or worrying about your makeup or appearance throughout the day. Waking up in the mornings have never been this effortless!

The procedure will start after consulting with your technician. A pre-procedure anaesthetic will be applied which has proven to be very effective in reducing any discomfort. Pre-packaged and one time use accessories will be used during the procedure. a sterilized needle will be opened and assembled into the device the technician will be using to do the procedure.

Lip Liner

A natural appearing permanent cosmetic lip liner can be applied to give more definition and correct uneven lips, which will result in a fuller appearance. The procedure also helps prevent lipstick from bleeding and can minimize the appearance of wrinkles. Full lip colour can be applied in either a natural hue or a more vivid one. Your technician will help you choose the correct colour that best suits your individual preference. You can wear your permanent lip colour alone in a natural tone or apply different shades of lipstick over your permanent lip colour for those occasions when you prefer a more dramatic look.

Sometimes lip liner alone can look artificial. If the colour complements your skin tone or you really like the look of a definitive line around the lips, then lip liner may be a good choice for you. If your choice of colour contrasts with your skin tone, a full lip colour procedure is a better choice. Remember, small lips will only look smaller with a defining lip liner so a full lip procedure is recommended in this case as well.

You will find that the colour will last much longer when applied over permanent cosmetic lip colour than it did to a bare lip.

The colouring and shape of the natural lip is unpredictable, therefore it is common for a technician to request a consultation before an appointment for the actual procedure is scheduled. At the consultation, your colour and shape objectives and probability of success with permanent cosmetic pigments and techniques will be discussed.

Typically before scheduling an appointment you will be asked if you have ever had a cold sore or fever blister before on your lips. If you are prone to these conditions we will provide you with the necessary medication, which you will need to consume within 5days prior to your appointment.

If you and the consulting technician have agreed to go forward and schedule an appointment, the technician may suggest that the timing does not coincide with any important events. Lips appear very vibrant for a few days after the initial procedure and dryness associated with the healing process requires the application of a moisturizing product.

In booking your appointment you will be asked to choose between a topical pre-procedure anaesthetic and receiving an oral nerve block which will numb the entire lip for approximately 3hours. A lip liner will be drawn on by the technician before the permanent cosmetic lip colouring will proceed. The work table will be assembled with one-time-use accessories, a sterilized needle will be opened, the needle assembled into the device and the procedure begins.

Immediately after the permanent cosmetic procedure the colour will appear very vibrant. Within a few days the outer layer of the permanent makeup will exfoliate. Many times this exfoliation process is inconsistent within the lips. It is important not to disturb the on-going exfoliation process by picking at portions of the lip that have not begun this process. After approximately a week, the majority of the residual lip tattooing has exfoliated off the entire lip area. The lips are somewhat tender and often remain that way to the touch for several weeks. This is why it is recommended to wait a minimum of six to eight weeks before the follow up procedure. Within this waiting period the lips will appear different. They may take on a “frosty” appearance for a few days off and on. They may appear more vibrant if the body is unusually warm (as an example after a warm shower.) Conversely they may appear duller if the body is unusually cool (as an example if you live in an area that has a cold climate ) Within the six-eight week period the lip colour settles in and the colour seen is the final colour resulting from the permanent makeup process. When you return to your technician for the follow up appointment the appearance of the colour and design will be discussed and adjustments made as appropriate.

A follow up appointment will be booked for 6-12 weeks and you will receive an aftercare regimen.
